Seeing Numbers – What Do They Mean?

Screen Shot 2016-06-09 at 7.04.03 AMWhen you live and work in a prophetic culture, you are either getting a “word” daily, believing for a “word,” or trying to decipher your “word” and your friend’s too.

The same can be true for numbers. Lately, I’ve heard people say, “I keep seeing the number one everywhere.” For example, you look at the clock and it’s 1:11. The next time you look at the clock it’s 11:11. Or maybe a phone number catches your eye on a billboard 800-111-1111. You start to think, what does this mean? Why do I keep seeing this number? Is God talking to me?

A couple months ago my girlfriend told me she’d been seeing the number one everywhere. She told me how she felt God was getting ready to do something new in her life and that all the things she had been waiting for were about to happen. Then a friend gave her this scripture scripture Deuteronomy 1:11.

May the LORD, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised!

Not only did this scripture have the number one in it, it lined up with what she felt God was doing in her life. She felt so encouraged by the scripture.

Later that week, my co-worker says she’s seeing the number one a lot lately. She said when she sees that number a lot, it’s a comforting sign that God is taking care of her.

Then my husband, says to me one day, “I’m seeing the number one everywhere.” What do you think that means? “At first I was like, “Babe, you’re getting on the number bandwagon?” Then I thought, “Wahoo give us some of that number one blessing!”

Numbers have significance in interpreting Scripture. The Word of God is clear in what is written, and it is deep in what is revealed through patterns, types and symbolism. There are hints of hidden messages or a deeper meaning that is below the surface or behind the words.

In Hebrew “one” or “ehad” represents unity and represents the worship of one God. It can also represent the beginning, as it is the beginning of the numerical system.

So what do other numbers mean? Keep in mind they can be negative and positive in representation. The Holy Spirit will guide you to an interpretation. Here are a meaning that I have compiled.

Two – confirmation, double portion, division, covenant, marriage/partnership

Three – divine fullness, resurrection, the Godhead, invincibility

Four – worldly creation, diving impact by four corners of the world, four seasons, global implication, divine intervention, divine command

Five – Grace, five-fold ministry

Six – pride, flesh, humanity

Seven – rest, completion, finished work, freedom, sovereignty and absoluteness

Eight – new beginning, circumcision of flesh

Nine – fruit of the spirit, gifts of the spirit, harvest, matured development, reproduction

Ten – law, government, testing/trial, responsibilities, obligations

Eleven – disorder, confusion, lawlessness, transition, paradigm shits

Twelve – government of god, divine order, covenant ones in power and authority

Keep in mind these meanings are not absolute, but only to be used as a guide when you are looking for an interpretation. The Holy Spirit will guide you in truth. I compiled these meaning from my own experiences through dreams as well as two books that I highly recommend. They are: Dr. Joe Ibojie’s Bible-Based Dictionary of Prophetic Symbols For Every Christian, and The Prophet’s Dictionary by Paula A. Price, Ph.D.

Sometimes it’s a puzzle when God’s talking, and each piece you put together is an invitation to go deeper in relationship with him. While I wasn’t seeing the number one, I kept hearing about what others were seeing and it was so often that I started to ask God if He was saying something to me too.

I can’t say today that I have a testimony as to what God is saying to me through the number one, but I’m more alert in that area. What has God been saying to you through numbers? Perhaps, you’ve been seeing the number one too. Please share.
